SafeConsole 5.9.6 (5.9.6.136) Released February 25th, 2025

 Availability:
  • SafeConsole Cloud

    • Cloud customers potentially affected by the device SSL issue, with devices acquired/registered before the cut-off date October 31, 2019, will remain on v5.9.5 until they have confirmed that they have completed the steps to prepare device SSL  and are ready to be updated.

  • SafeConsole On-Prem

    • On-Premise customers potentially affected by the device SSL issue, with devices acquired/registered prior to the release of SafeConsole version 5.5.0.7 (released October 31, 2019), must complete the steps to prepare device SSL before updating.

Changes/Fixes:

  • Log Improvements

    • Global Caching: Improved performance and integrity of logs, when handling heavy volume.

    • Faster loading of audit logs: The audit log page now loads faster by using a default log data range. The 'When' column now defaults to a 2-week range.

    • Enhanced search performance: The search is now more responsive, with a 5000-record limit for log searches in the UI and API. Users will be notified in the result bar if the search exceeds 5000 records. This also applies to the amount of records that are able to be exported via CSV or API calls.

  • Deprecated policies

These policies have been deprecated in the device software due to very low utilization and are being phased out for customers who are not using them:

  • Control Panel Application List - deprecated since device software version 6.7 (released August 23, 2023).

  • Authorized Autorun - deprecated since device software version 6.3.1 (released April 20, 2020).

  • Publisher- deprecated since device software version 6.3.1 (released April 20, 2020)

Phased policy deactivation: Active policies for existing customers will continue to function as expected. However, once disabled, they will be removed and cannot be re-enabled. A confirmation message will be displayed to the user. New customers will not see the phased-out policies in their Policy Editor.

  • Library Updates

    • Updated various libraries to the latest versions, including JQuery.

Notable Bug Fixes:

  • Login timeout issue when another SafeConsole tab remains idle, forcing user to login again

  • Custom fields are not visible for deleted devices in the trash bin

  • Conflict when an existing user’s email address is reused in a new user profile

  • Incorrect user details displayed for users with similar names
