After an updating your IronKey device, you may receive "AppEngine error (29): IKUserPrefs_BoxRead - invalid data" when starting the Secure Backup program within the IronKey Control Panel.
You can resolve this issue by deleting the application from your IronKey. Here is how:
- Open the IronKey Secure Files Volume by clicking on "Secure Files" in the IronKey Control Panel.
- Open the "IronKey-System-Files" folder.
Note: If you cannot see the folder, go to the "Tools" menu (XP) or "Organize" menu (Vista), select "Folder Options", go to the "View" tab, then enable "Show hidden files and folders".
- Delete the "IKSecureBackUp" folder.
- Finally, click on the "Secure Backup" button in the Control Panel to automatically re-install the Secure Backup application.
