SafeConsole Ready Devices that are registered to a server will prompt the user to request a password reset from the SafeConsole admin after 3 incorrect password attempts. Resetting the password does not delete the data on the drive. Once less than 10 attempts are remaining a countdown of the remaining attempts is shown in the graphical interface.

The last 3 attempts a dialog prompt will appear to warn the user that if all attempts are used unsuccessfully then the data will be unrecoverable lost.

The number of total attempts is based on the model of the device.
