The DL3 and Enterprise drives are platform independent.  As long as your platform accepts USB mass storage devices, and can provide the needed power via USB, the devices can be formatted and used for any system.

However, there have been some issues with the Enterprise and the way the fdisk command in Unix based systems interacts with the boot sector of the drive that might potentially cause issues. The DL3 is tested on these operating systems and we recommend using the DL3 for Linux, Solaris, and FreeBSD systems. OSX, while Unix based, uses a different formatting utility and is compatible with the Enterprise. However, our DL3 for Mac comes pre-formatted with the HFS filesystem for OSX.
